So, I realized today (maybe last night) after seeing one of my friends post about Bungo Stray Dogs–an anime for Literature Nerds (that’s me) and action/fantasy people–getting the green light for a third season, I have a lot of anime that I started and never finished.
Now, I don’t mean that as “I don’t like this so screw it” DROPPED!…no, I mean that as: I actually like this! Oh!! I’m eight episodes in! GETS BUSY. FORGETS ABOUT ANIME. NEVER WATCHES AGAIN.
There are three examples of this awkward forgetfulness that I have stuck in my head.
- Bungo Stray Dogs. Yep, the post that got me to remember I need to finish Bungo Stray Dogs was a Bungo Stray Dogs post. How convenient, right? Anyway, I think I only got through about seven episodes of the show, and I truly remember enjoying it. The characters were interesting, the action was pretty good, and the literature references were right up my alley (I’m an English major with an emphasis on creative writing, so reading is something I love doing). Yeah, obviously I need to catch up on Bungo Stray Dogs. Shouldn’t take me too long, though! (My friend even said he thinks I’ll like it more than he does, and he loves it, so I’m going to take his advice.)
- Assassination Classroom. I don’t remember anything about this show to be honest. It’s been a while since I’ve seen it. I think I got through five or six episodes and then didn’t watch any more even though I remember enjoying what was happening, and wondering what was going to happen next. Plus a bunch of people I know keep badgering me to watch it so we can talk about it.
- Charlotte. Oh, Charlotte… I heard so much about you: how funny you were, how emotional, how intense, etc… And I just stopped. Again. The power aspect of the show is what got me hooked, and I remember truly enjoying it and laughing through a few of the episodes, but that’s about it. I don’t remember any character names, or plot, or anything…I just remember having watched a few of the episodes and liking it.
There you have it! Shows that I’ve started and stopped watching, but for some reason enjoyed and still haven’t finished. I think one of the reasons I haven’t finished them is that I’m busy watching other things and don’t want to commit to a longer series, but then the show I get busy watching gets me hooked, and then I realize it’s longer than I thought so I keep watching.
I have an issue.
I should just finish these three shows…at some time…
