Well, I wasn’t going to write a blog post today because I’m exhausted physically and mentally, but I have to share something now because it’s a part of my life and that’s really what my blog is about! Sure, the posts have been about anime, but it’s still my daily life (including thoughts, dreams, etc) and this one excites me!
There’s another Fathom Events limited release coming to the United States!! This time, it’s the movie I want to eat your pancreas. The article on Crunchyroll has this to say about the film, and there are also some trailers attached.
However, that’s not the main point of this post. The main point is this: I’m seeing it with my brother; or, rather, I’ve linked the Crunchyroll tweet I read to him and we’ll talk about it. I’m fairly sure we’ll end up seeing it, though. Why am I fairly sure? Because back in July 2018 we saw Fireworks together! We saw the trailer a few weeks before the film released in the United States and my brother instantly bought tickets for a showing an hour away from us. It was a wonderful experience seeing that film with only my brother and no other people—laughing through it, commenting on the animation afterward, and even wondering how it compared to Your Name (which I personally don’t think should be done, but whatever). We also, along with about 75% of the other viewers in the theater pulled out our phones (well, my brother did as mine died) and got the theme song as the credits rolled!
Overall, seeing Fireworks with him was an amazing experience, and I’m hoping that we’ll be able to get tickets to see I want to eat your pancreas together and once again enjoy a brother-bonding, limited-showing anime film on the silver screen. Doing that with him would be absolutely amazing; and, I’m actually more intrigued than I believed I would be after reading the article on Crunchyroll and watching the trailers!
So, here’s to hoping I’ll get to see I want to eat your pancreas with my brother in a few months! And no, we won’t be seeing the dubbed version, we’ll be seeing the subbed version 🙂
Oh!! And the best part? There’s a showing fifteen minutes away from our house! Woohoo!
