Top Five Tuesday: Star Wars Video Games

Hello all you wonderful people! I’m back with another post! This time, my five favorite Star Wars video games!

I think it’s safe to say that Star Wars has captivated the hearts and minds of millions, while also drawing ire from others. In short, some people enjoy it and some don’t. I’m one of those people who enjoys Star Wars. In the near future I’m going to be playing a Dungeons & Dragons campaign that’s based off Star Wars’ original trilogy (or something…my friend is running that game, I’m going to be a Jedi!) So, yeah, I’m a huge Star Wars fan.

With that out of the way, let’s get into this top five! If you want to talk about some titles I list, feel free to comment!

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (2005)–Yeah, I’m going with the Battlefront Series. The original Battlefront Series! I adore this game, and actually still have it for PC somewhere, not that it holds up almost fifteen years later.star wars top 5 bf2

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (2003)–This is the ultimate game for me. I absolutely love KOTOR, the first KOTOR (I have the second one for PC, but it’s not as good…) Anyway, if you don’t know anything about Knights of the Old Republic, research this game because it’s fantastic (I mean, for a 2003 game).star wars top 5 kotor

Star Wars: The Old Republic (2011)–This is World of Warcraft, but in Star Wars form. And it was, for a time, absolutely amazing. It was pay-to-play (like $10/month or something?) and I was on this game all the time with my brother. Now it’s free to play, but paying gives you more options…or something. I don’t know, but I loved it. Always go with the two-bladed lightsaber (be it Sith or Jedi)! Oh, quick fact here…the woman in the picture below is a descendant of the woman in the picture above.star wars top 5 swtor

Star Wars Episode 1: Racer (1999)–Oh, yeah, my six-year-old self loved this game! The Nintendo 64 version of a racing game, but in Star Wars pod racers. Hell, if I’m honest I still love this game because it’s completely ridiculous and doesn’t handle very well because Nintendo 64…but yeah. It’s good fun, especially the explosions when you crash. It’s good fun if you have nothing to do…

Lego Star Wars (year???)–I played the first two Lego Star Wars games and loved them for some reason. I think it’s because you could go through the movies as Lego figures, but Star Wars characters. I don’t really know. Either way, I had great fun playing these games, like the whole slew of them that released starting with the original and then Lego Star Wars 2 and then whatever came after that. They were a lot of fun, and picking different characters just to see what they were going to look like as little Lego figures was adorable.

And that will do it for me today! If you have a favorite Star Wars game, or have anything to add about Star Wars in general, I’d love to know and converse (Star Wars is a huge thing for me!)

Thanks for reading everyone!

  1. I think every one of these games you mentioned still holds up, which says either they were really just that good, or many games made since (especially the star wars ones) just haven’t been good haha.

Maybe it’s because they hearken back to the days when major developers actually tried to make full games.
