Favorite Alliances and Fighting Forces in Anime

Hello all you wonderful people! I’m back with another post! Today, in lieu of the United States’ anniversary as its own country, having broken away from the British Empire on July 4th, 1776, I’m here to bring you some of my favorite alliances and fighting forces in anime!

Now, why do I say alliances and fighting forces? Well, because the United States as we know it wouldn’t really have been able to beat the British all those years ago without help. Sure, they had the Continental Army, and the minutemen thing going for them, but we’re talking about 18th century Britain…they controlled places across the entire fucking world. And the Thirteen Colonies in the Americas was one of those places. The British military was one of the most dominant forces at that time, and nobody wanted to go up against a column of red-coated Brits. They were too good in formation……..

Anyway, sorry for the small history tangent. Let’s get into some of my favorite alliances and fighting forces in anime!

  1. The Allied Shinobi Forces– Led by none other than Gaara, the Allied Shinobi Forces was a force to be reckoned with. Sure, they were fighting against a worldwide threat that was about to take over their world, but let’s be honest, there was so much fighting before in the five major national lands of the Naruto world that an allied army like that seemed preposterous. However, Gaara quelled the hate between members even when they were lined up and looking totally badass, giving one of my favorite anime speeches of all time. And then what did he do? He led the entire fucking force from the front. Hell yeah! The Allied Shinobi Forces was amazing. And their headbands? Yeah, I would love one of those to be honest.allied shinobi army
  2. The Jura Tempest Federation– Okay, this isn’t even a joke. I loved Slime-san and the federation that was built in “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.” It was a ridiculous show that didn’t take anything too serious, but being able to create an alliance of that many races? There were lizardmen, ogres, dwarves, and goblins! Seriously, it was pretty freaking cool. Plus, who didn’t love Gobta and Ranga?jura tempest federation
  3. The Scout Regiment– (Note: this is anime only through season 3, I haven’t read the manga) Tasked with venturing outside the walls, the Scout Regiment in Attack on Titan is one of my favorite fighting forces in anime solely because they’ve been up against insurmountable odds and lost, drew, and won battles. Sure, being a scout would probably suck, but with commanders like Erwin and Levi how could you not have some sense of loyalty and dedication to the cause you’re fighting for? Remember Erwin rallying his troops? Or Levi being a total badass? Yeah, I think the scouts are actually quite a force in certain areas when they have time to plan and get things the way they want. The forest with Annie? The way they gave their lives for humanity? Everything about them would make them a fighting force to be feared if they weren’t up against titans.attack on titan scout regiment horseback
  4. The Armed Detective Agency and Port Mafia– (Wait, you haven’t seen Bungo Stray Dogs season 3? Skip this section) For those who have, this alliance is absolutely wonderful! We get two well run groups in Yokohama who have been fighting against each other for years now working together under Mori’s and Fukuzawa’s orders. We get Rampo and Dazai and Akutagawa and Atsushi and Chuuya….and it’s all so freaking amazing.bungo stray dogs ada pm

And that’ll do it for this post! Just a quick one I thought up on the fly while I was at work wondering about how the United States fought against the British (they had help from the Native Americans and French, by the way–you know, alliances…)

If you have any favorite alliances and fighting forces in anime that you enjoyed I’d love to hear about them! Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading!

Alexie 🙂
